Interview: Tim Rutili of Califone

Hello all. I did a quick interview via electronic mail with Tim Rutili of Califone. Tim has been a part of lots of acts over the years, including Red Red Meat and Ugly Casanova. His music was also featured in the “Stranger than Fiction” movie soundtrack. Pretty interesting! Califone’s last album was released in 2006, but it looks like they’re working on some new stuff now. Keep an eye out for that. For more information on the band check out here and here.

SmartassRadio 37: Interview: R.A. Riekki

R.A. Riekki‘s new book U.P. is available on Ghost Road Press. It’s really the best book I’ve read since the first time I read Choke. I’m not just blowing smoke up his ass, it’s really that good. What follows is a 45 minute interview conducted on December 18, 2008. We cover topics as diverse as his recent stint teaching lifers in an Alabama prison to how Slayer and Ice Cube helpd shaped the characters of the novel. It’s really one of our best interviews yet. You do NOT want to skip this one. You can purchase the book at Ghost Road Press, Amazon or at various retail outlets throughout the county.

Podcast 29: Interview: Corey Beaulieu of Trivium

Roy and I interviewed Corey Beaulieu of Trivium on Wed. Rocktober 1st. He’s a super cool guy and I feel bad about waking him up at 5 in the afternoon. The band’s new album Shogun just came out on Sept 30 and it fucking rocks. We talked about the initial response to the album, his new signature Dean guitar and how well the band is carrying the torch of hard partying metal acts.
