Wait… Jim Martin’s Not A Part of the Faith No More Reunion?!
3 days ago I caught a fan-fucking-tastic piece of news from the ever popular metal news site Blabbermouth – Faith No More was getting back together to do some dates in Europe. Even though the piece made no mention of US dates (in fact a very clear mention of no US dates) I figured sometime in 2009 I would actually be able to see FNM live. Clearly, I had uncontrollable wood for the rest of the day and into Thursday morning when I looked for more information. This is what I found:
News after the jump… but the video rules too (like you needed to be told that)
FAITH NO MORE 2009 is:
Mike Bordin – Drums
Roddy Bottum – Keyboards
Bill Gould – Bass
Jon Hudson – Guitar
Mike Patton – Vocals
WHAT?! No Big Jim means I’m not going to Europe to see them. I understand that it may be close minded to only want the (get ready for this one) REAL THING, but fuckin’ a, if you’re going to do it, you might as well do it right. So, what I’ve chosen to do is to instead take an adventure to see Big Jim himself… on his pumpkin farm in Castro Valley, California – who’s with me? What really makes the whole thing so awful is that according to a source close to Big Jim, he did express interest in getting down with the reunion, but the band just took a big hot dump on his chest instead, told him to fuck his pumpkins and they’ll do it without him. Does this outrage anyone else?
Alright, so I’m sure if they come to the US I’ll buckle and go to see them – the prospect of Bill Gould, Roddy Bottom, Mike Patton and Mike Borden onstage together is a bit more than I (the penultimate GN’R-which-isn’t-really-GN’R fanboy) can resist.
I know a lot of readers probably are our age and thus might not know about how fucking great FNM are. I’ll have you know that if you don’t go out and buy (or at least download and buy at a later date) The Real Thing and Angel Dust, you’re doing yourself a great disservice and you’re just a straight up douchebag.
Does everyone like when we post about music? Or should we stick to talking about ourselves? Both?

What a great video! Brings back old memories for me. I caught four shows of FNM and they were the best live band I’ve ever witnessed, period. Big Sick Jim gave FNM the edge above the rest without Jim FNM is an average band at best. NO JIM NO REUNION FOR ME…

You are on the money. Jim Martin was a driving force. If anyone thinks jim martin can be replaced listen to the cowboy song. no one and I mean no one could duplicate what he did on that the morning after, a small victory!!!!!!!!!
